In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Vidhwavasu Gaur, Ayurvedic practitioner in Jaipur, revealed that our vata tends to increase during summer, leading to heat-related issues. He advised, during the summer, body fat decreases and vata increases due to the intense sun. Eating sweeter, easily digestible grains and drinking plenty of fluids are best. Roasted barley flour (sattu) mixed with sugar and water is great for daily consumption. It is also important to avoid alcohol at this time. Enjoy rasala (sweet yogurt), raga (sweet and salty syrup drink), sadava (fruit syrup) and panak (water with tamarind and jaggery kept cool in a clay pot). Sweet and sour panak made from unripe mango, phalsa, date palm, grapes or berries with jaggery and tamarind is also useful.

Keshav Agarwal, Director at Cannarma, emphasized the importance of harnessing the power of nature to promote wellness during summer. He suggested, using Kumkumadi hemp oil and aloe vera hemp gel can provide natural relief and help maintain balance. Rose water for body and face care is also useful to keep the skin fresh and hydrated. For hair care, hemp hair oil is an excellent choice, while hemp seed oil can be used both for skin care and as an edible oil to meet nutritional needs. These natural remedies effectively maintain holistic health during the harsh summer months.

Vaibhav Jain, CEO at AayushBharat, shared practical tips to stay balanced during the hot season. He advised, considering that some countries have already experienced temperatures above 50 degrees this summer, it is critical to take advantage of the benefits of Ayurveda and Ayush treatments in general. Apart from staying hydrated, make sure you consume plenty of ayurvedic drinks like Triphala and Amla juice, which help restore your inner freshness. Practice Yoga for at least thirty minutes in the morning. Apply plenty of aloe vera gel to your skin to protect it from the sun’s UV rays. Ayurvedic natural products should be a part of your diet; stay away from heavy and fatty foods.
